Tigers 8-Game Win Streak Comes to an End...

and we were there to witness it! Must be that Mom, Dad and I are not good luck for the Tigers or maybe they are not used to playing in front of 37,000+ fans yet. We decided not to go to Saturday's game because the Pistons were on at the same time so we ended up buying tickets Saturday night for Sunday's game. It was fun to be at the game; the ballpark was packed and the temp was 89 degrees. Tigers are still in first place ahead of James and Amy's White Sox! Best part was the free hat!

GRROWL!! How 'bout those Tigers!

They have the best record in baseball and they are 1.5 games ahead of the White Sox. I don't know if their winning streak will continue, but it is exciting to see these young guys doing well. They have their work cut out for them the next 10 days hosting the Indians, Yankees and Red Sox. Mom, Dad and I might go to the game tomorrow depending on the weather. Just hope we can get tickets! Who could have imagined that in May the Wings would be out of the playoffs and the Tigers would be the best team in baseball. GO TIGERS!

Weekend at the Lake

I spent this past weekend at the lake with my parents. I always look forward to relaxing and getting away from the 'city' for a while. And you think you have plans or a schedule when you are there, but that always changes so you have to just go with the flow. Glad Mom told me to grab a coat before we left because it was cold up north!

Friday night was Game 6 of the Pistons/Cavaliers series and the Pistons were down 3-2. Mom and Dad don't have cable at the house so we had to go to the local bar to see the game. Of course, we run into Mom's cousin, Sam, and they invite us over to their new house to watch the second half. We had a great time telling family stories, laughing and watching the Pistons pull out a close one to come back home for Game 7.

Saturday was Lee and Carrie's wedding. Carter was sick so we watched him all morning and some of the afternoon so Lee and Carrie could finish some of their wedding activities. Mom and I had to finish the candelabra at the church around noon so we left Dad in charge of Carter. Carter was feeling a lot better at this point and we were happy he would be able to make it to the wedding. The weather cooperated and the sun was shining most of the day. It was a nice wedding and always fun to sit and laugh with family.

Sunday was Game 7 in the Pistons/Cavs series so we wanted to head back home so we could see the game that afternoon, plus it was soooo cold! Couldn't get on the lake because it was too cold. The whole weekend we had the fire going and electric heat on and it was still chilly!

But no matter what the weather is at the lake, it is always great to be there. And this was my last time for a long time.

Location, Location, Location

I put my condo on the market today. I am hoping it sells sooner than later, but the way the housing market is right now in Michigan it is hard to say what is going to happen. I told my neighbors I was leaving and selling the condo and they were completely surprised since I just moved in a few months ago. I hope to find neighbors and a home comparable to what I will be leaving behind.

I Won't Be Homeless...

I finally found a temporary apartment to stay at in Nashville. It was harder than I thought it would be to locate housing. First of all, I was having difficulty finding something fully furnished and available in 3 weeks. The next issue was the price. Many of the places I contacted were really high in price per month. And lastly, I only want to live in the apartment a few months until I buy a house and a lot of places wanted a longer stay agreement. But I finally found something that will work and the complex is really nice. I will have to stay in a hotel for about 10 days until the apartment is ready for me to move in, but now I know what to pack. Just one more thing to check off my 'TO DO' list.

Goodbye Michigan...

After calling Michigan home for my entire life, I will be relocating to Nashville, Tennessee at the beginning of June. I've accepted a position at Mitsui Steel as a Senior Marketing Manager and will be traveling extensively to Mexico. I am really looking forward to this new transition in my life; new job, new state, new house, but of course there are some things I will definitely miss:

Family

Friends
Romeo Peach Festival
Achatz Michigan 4 Berry Pie
Sundays at Ford Field
Emerald Lake

Card Club
Snow
Scrapbooking with Friends

If anyone gets the itch to getaway, mi casa es su casa! Come on down!
